President’s Message

Respected Fellow Members of our Federation,

The Foundation Day of All India Federation of Tax Practitioners on 11th November reminds every member of the Federation and also others who are associated either with the Federation or with the members of the Federation, the ideology and the ethics of the profession. The ethics is the way of life which every one should follow.

The various zones of the Federation have been celebrating the Foundation Day on 11th November in different parts of the country.
I appeal every member of the Federation to celebrate the Foundation Day at their places in the form of foundation week in the month of November 2009 all over the country including at Mumbai where the Federation was born.

As per the decision of the National Executive Committee the “Foundation Day of All India Federation of Tax Practitioners on 11th November” was celebrated by all the respective zones last year.

The main programme was held at New Delhi under the dynamic leadership of Shri H.C. Bhatia, Chairman, North Zone in which the Chief Guest of the function was Hon’ble Dr. Justice Arijit Pasayat, Judge, Supreme Court of India apart from Mr. Goolam E. Vahanavati the then Solicitor General of India, Shri Soli J. Sorabjee, Former Attorney General for India and Shri P.H. Pareikh, President Supreme Court Bar Association of India apart from all of us.

The Foundation Day celebrations were also held at Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ratlam on 11th November, 14th November and also at Ujjain on 15th November, 2008.

North Zone of All India Federation of Tax Practitioners is going to celebrate Foundation Day function on 13-11-2009 at India Habitate Centre, New Delhi in which full day programme has been finalized under the Chairmanship of Shri H.C. Bhatia, Shri S.R. Wadhwa and other office bearers of North Zone, in which the members of National Executive are likely to participate apart from various dignitaries.

Development is taking place all over the world in the economic, industrial, trade and commerce fields; hence it is absolutely essential that all of us must consider and come forward with our suggestions immediately so that the Direct Tax Code and new GST regime may suitably be amended or modified which will have far reaching effect, after our suggestions are considered by the Finance Ministry.

I have appealed earlier also that each zone must send their suggestions at the earliest with regard to the Direct Tax Code and also for GST which will have great relevance for sending immediate suggestions for modifications and reforms to the Central Government which may be incorporated in the Direct Tax Code or in the proposed GST.

It is absolutely essential for the proper enactment and implementation of the direct and indirect tax laws.

With personal regards to every member of our own Federation.

Jai Hind.

Bharat Ji Agrawal
National President
