The a Finance Bill, 2010 shall be presented by the Finance Minister on 26th February, 2010 for the F.Y. 2010-11. All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP) and its members have also made certain suggestions to Hon’ble Finance Minister for making certain amendments in context with the provisions of Income-tax Act and Service Tax from time to time.

The Chairman, C.B.D.T. Shri S.S.N. Moorthy was also kind enough and attended the National Tax Conference, 2009 at Jaipur on 19th December, 2009 and chaired 1st Technical Session. The speakers on the dais, Shri S. Ganesh, Sr. Advocate, New Delhi, Shri Nishith Desai, Advocate, Mumbai and Shri M.K. Singhi, Executive Director, Shree Cement Ltd., Beawar, mentioned some suggestions relating to Income Tax and Direct Tax Code and the Chairman, C.B.D.T. assured to implement the suggestions after discussions with the Board Members. The indication was also given by the C.B.D.T. Chairman for incorporating the provisions in the Direct Tax Code while addressing the gathering.

In the National Tax Conference at Jaipur, after Inaugural Session and during Lunch, Shri H.M. Bangur, Managing Director, Shree Cement Ltd. has appreciated and shown the confidence in activities of the Federation and declared to contribute Rs. 1 crore to the Federation if the Federation comes out with good proposals for the human mankind. We, therefore, request to all the Past Presidents, Office Bearers and Members of the Federation to give concrete proposals which may be taken up by the Federation so that the same may be discussed in the next meeting of the Executive Committee to be held on 10th April, 2010 at Cuttack. We also invite suggestions from the Members for better working of the Federation.

Advocates and Tax Professionals are part of the judicial system and should take equal part in the process of dispensation of justice. We are shortly finalizing various committees at the national level so that due Representation from each State may be incorporated for Direct Tax Code and GST.
