Respected Fellow Members of our Federation,

The two years period of the present National Executive is coming to an end in December, 2009. The active participation of the various life members in the activities of the Federation in different zones has been of great importance.

The recently concluded International Tax Conference in November, 2009 at Mumbai has added another feather to the cap of the Federation.

Each zone of the Federation has involved new and energetic members who have contributed a lot for its development. I am keen that every life member should be activated, for which Zonal Chairman & Vice Chairman should take the responsibility for those who are not participating in various functions of the Federation.

I congratulate Shri H.C. Bhatia, Chairman (North Zone), Shri M.D. Sodani of Central Zone, Mrs. Nikita R. Badheka and Shri P.V. Subba Rao, Chairperson of West Zone and Chairman of South Zone for taking sincere efforts for the various progresses.

Shri R.D. Sharma who has been associated with the Federation since long have left no stone unturned for making his zone quite vibrant.

The Federation has achieved all-round success in different parts of the country, only on account of able leadership of Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of different zones who have contributed a lot for achieving the goals of the Federation.

I must congratulate the Chairman and Vice Chairman of each zone in particular and every member of the Federation in general for contributing towards success of the programmes organized in different parts of the country.

While the term of two years of the present bearers is coming to an end in December, 2009 the God (Almighty) has snatched from the Federation Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Advocate who was the Vice Chairman of All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (North Zone), State of U.P. He was not only a great Advocate but was extreme gentleman who has rendered valuable services for the promotion of the Federation.

The historical National Tax Conference organized in March, 2009 at Varanasi was unprecedented with a large number of registered delegates of about 1100 from all over the country.

Shri Anil Kumar Singh was a widely respected person not only in the North Zone but amongst his friends, associates all over the country due to valuable services which he rendered for promotion of the Federation.

The Federation has lost a simple, sweet, sincere, devoted, dedicated, determined, courteous, humane and hospitable person ultimately and unprecedentedly. He proved as an unparalleled member of the Federation, who promoted and spread the Federation in the entire States of Northern Zone.

So far as I am aware, the maximum delegates registered in the year 2008 and 2009 so far were in the National Tax Conference organized in March, 2009 at Varanasi.

We are keen to perpetuate the memory of late Shri Anil Kumar Singh, Advocate, who with his individual efforts has enrolled above 200 life members during the years 2008 and 2009, by instituting various awards in his memory.

I shall endeavour for the further progress of the Federation in the coming years.
