President’s Message |

Respected Fellow Members of our Federation, It is a matter of great pleasure that the Federation has expanded its activities with the guidance and the patronage of all the past Presidents and the senior members of the Federation from different zones. The recent National Tax Conference at Varanasi was an example of active participation of not only the office bearers of the Northern Zone but the active cooperation and involvement of the entire National Executive of the Federation from all over the country. Every member of the Federation are making sincere efforts to follow the path and guidelines shown by our past Presidents Shri N.M. Ranka, Senior Advocate of Jaipur, Shri P.C. Joshi and Dr. K. Shivaram, Advocates of Mumbai and Shri V. Ramachandran, Senior Advocate of Chennai. The appointment of Vice Chairman of each State in different zones have brought useful results. It is for the first time in the history of the Federation that AIFTP (Northern Zone) is jointly organizing one day National Tax Conference in association of Chandigarh Judicial Academy on 12th July, 2009 at Chandigarh. The Chandigarh Judicial Academy giving training to the senior judicial officers of the State of Punjab and Haryana. I congratulate Shri K.L. Goyal, Advocate of Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Vice Chairman of State of Punjab of AIFTP (Northern Zone) for getting active support of his Lordship Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal who had accepted our request in Varanasi for this one day National Tax Conference. Even though any institution or association may not be the member of AIFTP but it shall be a great achievement if the Federation expands its activities with a view to further implement its object by getting the support and association of the institutions like Chandigarh Judicial Academy. I appeal to every Zonal Chairmen of the different zones and respective Vice Chairmen to make sincere efforts to increase the activities of the Federation so that the presence of AIFTP is felt not only in the districts of the State but also at the places where the seat of the Hon’ble High Court is situated. As already decided in the National Executive meeting at Kolkata the education programme of the Federation should be taken in every State all over the country by organizing the National Tax Moot Court Competition and also by organizing the Research Paper Competition not only for the students but also for the young Advocates and Chartered Accountants and I hope that AIFTP (Northern Zone) and AIFTP (Southern Zone) will come out with some concrete prorgramme before we meet in the month of June at Pune. The new budget shall be introduced immediately after the elections of the new Government. I request every member of the Federation to give their suggestions immediately for making representation to the new Government for the amendments of the Income-tax Act so that we can place before the new Finance Minister or the Chairman, CBDT immediately after the new Government takes over. I shall try to be in constant touch with you for the cause of the Federation. With personal regards to every member of our own Federation. Jai Hind.
